Modelling uncertainty of cost and time in infrastructure projects
Published 2020“…The probability distribution function of cost and time were modelled using the lognormal and triangular probability distributions; while Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS), Copula analysis technique, the Markov processes, and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) analytical technique were used in modelling the variability of the cost and time activity, correlation between costs, time and cost-time activities, and to model the occurrence of disruptive events, so that the impact size of disruptive events on the cost and time of activities respectively, can be intelligently assessed. The developed uncertainty model was validated against the final cost and time of a project case study, as well as against historical data of construction cost overruns and time delays in infrastructure projects. …”

Probabilistic methods for radio interferometry data analysis
Published 2018“…Finally we incorporate turbulent time-varying phase offsets and delays in our model selection and show that the delays can be estimated to within 10-16 per cent error (often better than contemporary software packages) while simultaneously estimating the extended source structure.…”

Outcomes of failure of selective non-operative management of penetrating abdominal trauma
Published 2023“…The patients were categorised into two groups: immediate laparotomy and delayed operative management (DOM) groups. The outcomes of the two groups were compared in terms of postoperative complications as a primary outcome, mortality and length of hospital stay as secondary outcomes. …”

Prioritization of critically unwell children in low resource primary healthcare centres in Cape Town, South Africa
Published 2017“…Due to an inadequate number of trained healthcare workers and high volumes of children presenting to Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC), waiting times remain high and often result in significant delays for critically ill children. Delays in the recognition of critically unwell children are a key contributing factor to avoidable childhood mortality in Cape Town, South Africa. …”

NLP-Based Comparative Assessment of Clauses Quantifying Risk Transfer in Construction Contracts
Published 2026“…The developed framework is designed to compare the two versions of clauses, the employer’s original and the contractor’s amended version, to quantify the extent of risk reallocation back to the employer through the clause’s revisions. …”
