- Generating massive investment for growth and development has been one of the main policy goals of most economies around the globe. Countries, most especially developing ones, are highly susceptible to investment volatility owing largely to the fragile nature of their economies as well as weaknesses in terms of dysfunctional institutions. Therefore, sound economic management suggests the need to better understand possible sources for mitigating the adverse effects of investment volatility. Remittances have been identified as important capital flows which do a good job of dousing macroeconomic volatilities. It is on this basis that the study sought to uncover the causal relationship between remittances and investment volatility via the intermediating role of institutions. Using a panel of 70 countries and the system Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimator, three insightful outcomes come to the fore. First, remittances played countercyclical roles across the estimated regressions. Second, institutional quality had no significant role in mitigating investment volatility and lastly, the interactive terms of both remittances and institutions significantly mitigated the negative impacts of investment volatility with the exception of the political component of the institutional architecture. Policy suggestions are drawn based on our results. 4 results 4

- A review has been carried out on the potential ecological impacts of peaceful or civilian robotic drone use and its policy implications for developing countries. The author delves into the emergence of what has become today known as drones right from the late 16th century it was first used as a hot - air balloon through its evolvement over the decades inspired by the need for national defence and global peace. The article highlights the rapid departure from the tragic use of military - grade drones to peaceful or civilian uses in the last decade to policy implications for developing countries. The article gives succinct analyses of the reported and potential pros and cons associated with peaceful drone use in developed and developing countries with the aim of assisting the later in this unavoidable policy decision at hand. Suggestions are made on the way forward through approaches to arrive at policy criteria on peaceful robotic drone use in accordance with cultural, developmental, ethical and ecological needs, aspirations and peculiarities of developing countries in need of such a framework. 3 results 3
- Absence of acquisition of vocational skills on the part of the youths has been considered the bane of the economy of many African societies, particularly Nigeria. The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) schemes were the intervention strategies introduced by the government in its frantic effort to find a lasting solution to youth unemployment. In the light of the above, the study looked at the NDE schemes as a source of provider of employment through youth empowerment schemes in Oyo State, Nigeria. The descriptive research design of the expost-facto type was adopted for the study. The population for the study comprised all the youths who have benefited from the vocational skill acquisition and small scale enterprise schemes of the NDE in Oyo State, Nigeria. Random sampling technique was used to select 450 youths who benefited from the vocational skill acquisition scheme and the small scale enterprise schemes of the NDE. The instrument used was a questionnaire tagged "Skill Acquisition and Youth Empowerment Questionnaire" (SAYEQ) with four sub-sections. Two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance and the finding showed that there is significant impact of NDE vocational skill acquisition training scheme on youth empowerment (F(l.398) = 46. 769; P,<.05); there is significant impact of NDE small scale enterprises scheme on youth empowerment (F(l.398) = 99.284; P, <.05). It is recommended that industrial social worker should sensitise the government as to how best they can use these programmes (VSS and SSE) as agents of change in the life, socialisation and economic empowerment of youths within their communities and the nation at large. 3 results 3
