description Faith based education is not a new phenomena in Egypt since religious institutions and scholars have always played a role in providing education services to their community formally and informally. Formally, they provided education services to the members of their community through building and managing schools. The trend of faith based schools in Cairo has always been rising since the last decades. However, many faith based schools are facing many regulatory and social obstacles post 25th revolution and 30th June revolution in Egypt. This is due to the misunderstanding of faith based education and the underestimation of their role. Therefore, it is crucial to assess the role and quality of faith based education and schools in Cairo where many faith based schools are located at and that is the main objective behind this study. This study assesses the role and quality of faith based education and schools in Cairo through interviewing different stakeholders of such type of education and schools: parents/guardians, teachers and school administrators. These interviews indicated that faith based education and schools are playing a significant role in increasing the accessibility and availability to education. Also, the interviews indicated that faith based education and schools offer high quality of education to their students through investing in school environment, content, and learning process which lead to pleasant outcomes. The quality of education which they offer is better than the quality which public schools offer to students due to their financial and non-financial resources. Indeed, the role and quality of faith based education and schools could not be neglected under any circumstances because they contribute positively to the educational improvement in Cairo.
