Motivation has been empirically confirmed to be a major driver of employee performance of which teachers are of no exemption. As such, this study aimed at assessing the impact of motivation on teachers‘ performance in Senior High Schools in the New Juaben Municipality. The research design adopted both exploratory survey and quantitative design for the study. Purposive sampling methods were used to select the sample size of one hundred and eighty (180) research participants. The sample size was made up of Headmasters/Headmistress and teachers from nine second cycle institutions in the New Juaben Municipality in the Eastern Region. With the help of a questionnaire and an interview guide, data collected from the field were grouped, transcribed and analysed. The SPSSv21 and excel micro software were used to determine the frequencies and percentage of the primary data. The study established that, the three main motivating factors for teachers are salary increase, rewards and job security. It can also be established that, there is a greater influence of motivation on teachers‘ performance in senior high schools in the New Juaben Municipality. The study also identified factors that can produce satisfaction or dissatisfaction among teachers. The study concludes that, to ensure the best performance of teachers, there is the need to combine the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, institute a reward system, promote an enabling environment for teaching and learning and provide of performance feedback to teachers regularly.
