New iminophosphine ligands were synthesised in good yields from the condensation of N-(2-(diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde with the appropriate amine. A series of new metal complexes (Pd, Pt and Au) were obtained by coordination of the iminophosphine ligands in good yields. The complexes were characterised using the spectroscopic and analytical techniques mentioned above, with the exception of the palladium dichloride complexes that are highly insoluble in organic solvents. 2014-12-27T14:16:42Z 2014-12-27T14:16:42Z 2010 Doctoral Thesis Doctoral PhD http://hdl.handle.net/11427/10260 eng application/pdf Department of Chemistry Faculty of Science University of Cape Town
