spelling oai:open.uct.ac.za:11427/10832 The Influence of urban development on the water chemistry of the Cape Flats aquifer Mehlomakulu, Mandla Fey, Martin V Environmental Geochemistry Includes bibliographical references. Large quantities of water are available in the Cape Flats sandy aquifer in the Western Cape. Local industrial, agricultural, domestic and urban development activities are known to be potential polluters of this water through infiltration of wastewater, because of the unconfined nature of the aquifer. In order to determine the potential of the water in the aquifer, fifteen water samples from the Cape Flats were analysed and geochemically assessed prior to their qualify being evaluated in terms of future use in domestic, irrigation and industrial activities. 2015-01-01T12:36:32Z 2015-01-01T12:36:32Z 2000 Master Thesis Masters MSc http://hdl.handle.net/11427/10832 eng application/pdf Department of Geological Sciences Faculty of Science University of Cape Town
