To date, most of the studies on the homoiochlorophyllous desiccation-tolerant (HDT) plant Myrothamnus flabellifolius have been conducted on excised twigs or leaves. In this study drying (including prolonged exposure to the dry state), and recovery of whole plants was compared with that of detached twigs dried off the plant, and also with twigs excised after having dried on the plant.
