Tuberculosis has been widespread from earliest history as demonstrated by skeletal deformities suggestive of spinal tuberculosis (Potts Disease) seen in Neolithic man (5000 BC) [Sager P, Schalimtzek M and Moller-Christensen V, 1972]. The earliest written reports similar of tuberculosis probably come from Chinese writings of about 2700 BC, which mention "lung fever" and "lung cough". 2014-07-29T09:02:36Z 2014-07-29T09:02:36Z 2000 Doctoral Thesis Doctoral PhD http://hdl.handle.net/11427/3361 eng application/pdf Department of Medicine Faculty of Health Sciences University of Cape Town
