Corynebacterium glutamicum is extensively used for the commercial production of a host of amino acids including lysine, glutamate, and threonine. Consequently, much research has been directed at analyzing nitrogen metabolism in this bacterium. In particular, our research focused on investigating the regulation of nitrogen assimilation. Initially, we searched for homologs of the Streptomyces glnR, glnII, and glnE genes in C. glutamicum.
