This investigation examines the failure of circular and square mild steel plates, aluminium rectangular beams and T-beams subjected to impulsive loads. The objective of this investigation is to numerically determine the dynamic response of circular and square plates, rectangular beams and T-beams clamped and built-in (integral) at the boundary subjected to uniform blast loading; use material properties that include and exclude temperature dependency to model the plates and beams response and failure and finally to compare the numerical results with experimental results. 2014-07-31T11:19:29Z 2014-07-31T11:19:29Z 2001 Master Thesis Masters MSc http://hdl.handle.net/11427/5500 eng application/pdf Department of Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment University of Cape Town
