There are ongoing debates on the topic of restructuring. More so in South Africa (especially in terms of welfare consequences that are likely to arise) when its government undertook the difficult task of restructuring State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). There is however a general lack of information and data on the labour dynamics of restructuring SOEs to inform that debate.
