The journey to identifying and evaluating missional tools becomes paramount to the efficacy of missions in the contemporary era. Understanding the nature of missions is important for discerning what needs to be updated while remaining faithful to the core mandate. This research, therefore, examined definitions of missions provided by academic writers and explored concepts relevant to the South African context. It then focused on Interreligious Dialogue as an additional missional tool. By carefully analysing the key ideas within this concept, the findings were applied to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of South Africa (EPCSA), which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2025. The EPCSA was used as a case study to assess whether Interreligious Dialogue could serve as an additional missional tool in its context, and the research further developed a praxis for its application.
