This dissertation has uncovered the extent to which climate education addresses climate change and its effects. The research establishes the nexus between climate change and human rights. It highlights that climate change affects human rights and as such human rights-based approach should be employed to effectively address it and its consequences. To meet this objective, the research examined the sufficiency and/or insufficiency of the frameworks applicable to climate education and that these frameworks be strengthened where the latter is the case. Additionally, the research exposed lessons and best practices from other jurisdictions and recommends that South Sudan be guided by these lessons and best practices in designing and developing its legislation and policies. It further proffers that climate education should play a leading role in addressing climate change as it has proven to be the most effective way of providing climate solutions.
