UCTD Human rights Climate change Children's rights Madagascar Legal frameworks Mini Disseration (LLM (Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa))--University of Pretoria, 2021. Climate change poses a profound threat to the fundamental rights of children, particularly in vulnerable regions like Madagascar. This research investigates the intricate relationship between climate change and children’s rights, with a specific focus on the southern region of Madagascar. Through a comprehensive examination of international, regional, and national legal frameworks, this study aims to shed light on how the Malagasy government can enhance the protection of children’s rights in the face of climate change. The research identifies climate change as a social injustice that exacerbates global inequalities, disproportionately affecting impoverished communities.
