This research focuses on the right to education of internally displaced children in Burkina Faso. Since 2015, this country has been facing a security crisis marked by terrorist attacks that have led to the forced displacement of more than two million people, 50% of whom are children. Unfortunately, many of these children are unable to access adequate education. The methodology adopted in this study is based on a doctrinal analysis of international, regional and national legal instruments relating to the right to education and the rights of the child. The results of the research highlight the major challenges faced by the government of Burkina Faso in guaranteeing the right to education of these internally displaced children. The steady increase in the number of IDPs, combined with an already fragile education system and chronic underfunding of education in emergency situations, highlights the limitations of the state in responding effectively to the pressing needs of this vulnerable population.
