This study is a review of the Food Resilience Policy in Region D, this study used food security policy frameworks and relevant primary and secondary data to examine the effectiveness of the food resilience interventions in Johannesburg. The study utilised qualitative research methods. Data were collected by the researcher as a participant observer during the policy review session in Region D, Soweto, and a thematic analysis gives insight into key themes adopted to highlight their relevance and effectiveness of the City of Johannesburg Food Resilience Policy. As a participant observer, the researcher made notes and was guided by questions about relevance and effectiveness that assisted with probing, assessing behaviour and recording data. The study concludes with recommendations that are based on the strengthening of relevance and effectiveness in the implementation of the Food Resilience Policy. AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Voedselonsekerheid is 'n goot probleem in Suid-Afrika. Johannesburg implementeer 'n stedelike landboubeleid as deel van 'n voedselveerkragtigheidstrategie.
