My research delves into how the interplay of light and shadow in domestic spaces serves as metaphors for these boundaries, illuminating the tension between personal histories and collective memory. By utilizing the anthotype process with turmeric, a material laden with cultural symbolism, I further explore how this alternative photographic method offers insight into personal and cultural narratives of home and identity. This method not only reflects the fragility and transience of memory but also underscores the act of preservation, allowing me to engage with inherited family histories while addressing broader societal themes of security, care, and belonging.
