Nike, a prominent figure in Greek mythology, embodies the ideals of success and triumph, making her a major subject in numerous artistic depictions. The analysis compares Nike's representations to three thematic groups: Nike with deities, Nike with mortals, and Nike alone. Each category offers unique insights into her influence and the cultural traditions celebrating victory, highlighting Nike's connections to divine and human experiences. Depictions of Nike and deities emphasise her role in granting favour and success in athletic competitions and warfare, illustrating the intertwining of religious beliefs and societal desires. Scenes featuring Nike with mortals reveal how individuals sought her blessing, underscoring the importance of victory in both personal and collective contexts. Lastly, representations of Nike alone emphasise her symbolic significance, embodying the concept of success as an ideal to be pursued. This research examines these artistic portrayals to highlight the themes of triumph and the desire for excellence in classical Greece. Furthermore, it demonstrates how everyday artefacts can enhance our understanding of the interplay between daily life and mythology, enhancing our knowledge of ancient Greek culture.
