Soft skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity are in high demand. Within this education landscape, Dramatic Arts as a South African FET subject provides an opportunity to facilitate relevant and holistic teachingand learning experiences. This study examines how Dramatic Arts teachers can use digital technologies to optimise teaching methodologies and pedagogies to meet the diverse learning needs of Generation Z learners, while developing the sought-after 21st-century skills. It explores how teachers can guide learners in developing digital wisdom by facilitating engaging, creative processes and immersive learning experiences, empowering them to navigate the complexities of the digital world and harness its potential for creative expression and a life-long learning mindset.A mixed-method, practice-led approach was adopted, incorporating qualitative analysis from learner focus groups, interviews with Senior Education Specialists, and reflective autoethnographic narratives, alongside quantitative surveys administered to Dramatic Arts teachers in the Western Cape. The findings suggest that when digital technologies are integrated into Dramatic Arts, they can enrich the creative process, deepen metacognitive engagement, and support curriculum delivery in ways relevant to the demands of Education 4.0.
