ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The aim of this dissertation is to contribute in solving the problem, due to a lack of knowledge and information, concerning the aerodynamic features of a typical air-cooled heat exchanger (ACHE), numerically and experimentally. Only forced draught ACHE's are considered. The project consists mainly of numerical experimentation, using the general purpose code, PHEONICS. AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die doel van hierdie proefskrif is om 'n bydrae te lewer om die probleem, weens die gebrek aan kennis en inligting, in verband met die aërodinamiese eienskappe van 'n tipise lugverkoelde warmte-uitruiler (LVWR) numeries en ekspirimenteel aan te spreek. In die proefskrif is daar slegs aandag geskenk aan geforseerde trek LVWR's met horisontale vindbuisbundelkonfigurasies. Die ondersoeke is oorheers deur numeriese eksperimentering en die berekeningsvloeimeganikapakket, PHEONICS, is vir die doel aangewend.
