AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Toe ek in Januarie 1930 die geleentheid kry om in Pretoria en op die Rand as amptenaar in die Departement van Mynwese (en Nywerheid) te gaan werk, het ek verlof van die Universiteit van Stellenbosch ontvang om met my ondersoekswerk op genoemde centra voort te gaan. My aanstelling aldaar as Sekretaris van die Staatsmyningenieur, gelyktydig met my sekretariële werk by etlike staatsmynondersoekkommissies, die een na die ander, het my toe 'n gulde geleentheid besorg om die alleen die naturelle-verbreiding en verwante sake nie, maar ook myboukwessies te bestuur.
