ENGLISH ABSTRACT: A new compound energy converter for low earth orbit satellites is proposed, employing the parallel power conversion technique, a new maximum power point tracking technique based on the characteristics of the PV panel, and the peak current-programmed control technique. These techniques are used for low EMI, high power conversion efficiency, high reliability, stability and size reduction. AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: 'n Nuwe saamgestelde-energie omsetter vir lae aardwentelban sattelliete word voorgestel, deur die parallelle drywingsomsettingstegniek, 'n nuwe maksimum drywingpuntvolger tegniek, gebaseer op die karakteristiek van die sonpaneel, en die piekstroom geprogrammeerde beheertegniek toe te pas.
