Dept. of Private Law. Human rights -- Zimbabwe Capital punishment -- Zimbabwe Land tenure -- Zimbabwe Dissertations -- Law Thesis (LL. M.) -- University of Stellenbosch, 1994. At a time when the continent of Africa, with only a few exceptions, has been liberated from colonial bondage and other undemocratic forms of government, the subject of human rights has become one of the principal concerns of international relations, in fact, international law. The prominence of this topic has been engendered by a recent development in global economic politics, since international finance or aid is now linked to a receiver country's human rights record. This study, therefore, looks at the development of a human rights jurisprudential corpus in Zimbabwe since attainment of independence.
