In literatuur word dit miskien genoem, dog nooit daaroor uitgewei nie; selfs in literatuur wat oor Suidafrikaanse hawens ·handel. 'n Wet enskapl ike studie van die omgewing is. daar nog nooit gemaak nie, en behalwe vir die rapporte "lat Moller en Heere in 1729 en Helmis in 1738 1:1a11 die ou .Politieke raad uitgebring het, ib daar nog nooit·rapporte oor die hawe uitgebring nie. so'n studie is dus glad nie oorbodig nie. Dit is wel meer 'n beskrywende behandeling, maar per slot van rekening is die beskrywing tog die vernaamste taak van die Geografie. ENGLISH SUMMARY: No English abstract available.
