Electric measurements Low voltage systems Electric power distribution Electric power systems -- Electric losses Dissertations -- Electronic engineering Thesis (MEng) -- University of Stellenbosch, 1998. With recent technological advances in measurement equipment it is possible to measure various L.V. loads simultaneously over extended periods of time. The technology is being used in a nationwide load study and the readings utilised in various load research projects. The most significant result to date is the Herman-Beta method for voltage regulation calculations on L.V. feeders. The Beta probability density function is utilised in the above-mentioned method to represent the voltage regulation statistically. This study aims to use this statistical model to represent the technical heat losses on L.V. feeders based on load current collected for a particular network and consumer group.
