Multinational companies operate in different host countries around the world and have to deal with different economic, political, legal, socio-cultural and technological factors. One of the essential elements of the business environment is the socio-cultural environment. The sociocultural environment is a combination of social and cultural factors. Strong interactions exist between them, making it very difficult to assess their individual impact on the operations of multinational corporations. Socio-cultural factors are among the most important environmental factors that have a significant impact on the economic activities and performance of multinational corporations. In addition, socio-cultural factors are beyond the control of overseas subsidiary managers. The purpose of this paper is to explain the impact of certain socio-cultural factors on the performance of Ghana.
