In this research the triggers and the associated subjective experiences related to a generational satanist’s transision to the Christian religion were explored in depth. The investigation was conduct according to a qualitative methodology, which applied an existential phenomenological research method. The researcher further explored the phenomena in a phenomenological way through the use of an explorative descriptive case-study method. The naïve life sketch, phenomenological answers and a transcribed interview of a single case (a woman older than twenty one years) were used as data for this study. The researcher personally transcribed and thematically analized the phenomenological interview. In order to supply rich and descriptive data all relevant themes were categorized according to the various main headings of the literature chapters. This allowed the researcher to find themes related to: 1) a Biblically-based Christian world view; 2) satanism; 3) Object Relations Theory and 4) Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). All themes were further grouped into subcategories under the four aspects related to an ideology namely: 1) a view of creation, 2) the basic nature of man, 3) a diagnosis for the basic problem of man and 4) the basic prescription of how to solve this problem. This grouping according to the four aspects related to an ideology was seen as essential due to the fact that the researcher successfully argumented that not only Christianity and satanism, but also the Object Relations Theory can be seen as world views. This enabled the researcher to interpret the various triggers related to the transition to Christianity not only from the Object Relations Theory, but also from the Christian world view. Furthermore the integration of the case with the Object Relations Theory contributed to rich descriptions of the subjective experiences in the case study. The literature chapter that deals with DID contributed to the diagnosis of DID and the researcher attempted to integrate an Object-relations understanding of DID and demonization with the Biblically-based world view. The communication that took place between the various world views enabled the researcher to approach a generational satanist in a holistic manner (biological, psychological, social, spiritual).
