Die oorspronklike tema van hierdie verhandeling sou gewees het ‘n studie van die werk van ‘n aantal eietydse Suid-Afrikaanse skilders wat in die landskap of landskapvorme onderwerpe vind vir hulle kuns bv. Gordon Vorster (1928), Eric Laubscher (1927), Kenneth Bakker (1926) en hulle bydrae tot die ontwikkeling van die SuidAfrikaanse skilderkuns na 1945. So ‘n studie het geblyk te omvattend te wees en daar is besluit om ons slegs te bepaal by ‘n studie van Anna Vorster se werke, haar landskapskildering, figuurskildering en portretkuns tot 1972.
