The research aimed to assess educators' views towards CPD. This study adopts an interpretivist paradigm to explore participants' subjective experiences and the meanings they ascribe to their social realities. Using an exploratory qualitative research approach, the study collected the data through semi structured interview and focus group discussions with TVET educators at various vocational training centres. Data were analysed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes within participants' responses. Key findings highlight both positive and negative aspects of collaborative learning, with educators valuing the social benefits and critical thinking enhancements but expressing concerns about topic relevance and ineffective group dynamics. While some educators appreciated exposure to new knowledge, others felt overwhelmed by rapid subject introductions that lacked practical applicability. The study also underscored the importance of technological integration, revealing that outdated resources hinder effective training, although educators recognised the necessity of adaptability and problem-solving skills in utilising available technology. Participants reported an imbalance between theory and practice, emphasising the need for practical training which is aligned with industry standards. Although CPD programmes were acknowledged for their potential for professional growth, there was a clear demand for tailored content that meets specific vocational needs, improved delivery methods, and enhanced assessment processes. Ultimately, the research highlighted the critical role of CPD in enhancing teaching effectiveness within Namibia's TVET sector. By addressing identified gaps and fostering a collaborative approach to CPD that involves both management and educators, the study contributes valuable insights for tailoring CPD initiatives that effectively support educators and strengthen the overall TVET landscape, thereby aligning with Namibia's economic development goals.
