A computer controlled tuning unit has been designed to carry out automatic load pull measurements on L-band microwave power amplifiers. the tuning unit is used to tune to any output impedance which may be required to carry out power load pull in the frequency range 1.2 - 1.4 GHz. Excellent comparison between measured and calculated values was obtained.
