In this dissertation the relationship Alasdair MacIntyre postulates between Justice and social structure in his two most important works, After Virtue (AV) and Whose Justice? Which Rationality? (WJWR), is examined. In AV MacIntyre explores the nature of the Aristotelian society and tradition as a unitary model as against the plurality of modern liberal invidualistic convictions. This tradition model serves to establish the objectivity of moral language as against the vascillations and subjectivity of emotivism and the individuality of liberalism. In so doing the significance and coherence of morality, as society's grip on the individual, is established and the accountability of the moral agent guaranteed.
